Graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Ecosystems Biology and a minor in Botany. Despite having grown up in a family of farmers and gardeners, her real love of plants started at EMU with her first semester of Botany. After that first class, she knew she would have a career working with plants. Eventually following through with her dream, she held various Green Industry jobs before growing into the role of Landscape Designer at Shades of Green Nursery where she worked from 2002 to 2015. In 2015, April took a position as a Designer with Aguafina Gardens International and continues to expand the scope and style of landscapes that she designs. She is certified in Michigan as a Green Industry Professional and an ISA Certified Arborist.
April works with both residential and commercial clients, from new construction projects to landscape renovations and oversees projects from design to complete installations.
She works closely with Aguafina clients, and is often complimented on her ability to listen and understand what the client wants.
Continuing education, reading, and touring gardens are ways April keeps on track with current trends. The great company culture at Aguafina allows April to balance work and life at home with her husband and three sons.
